This weekend promises to be an action packed one, and an action packed one it will be! This weekend, titled “Penang In Action“, highlights the Penang Dragon Boat Cross Channel Invitation Race which will be held this Sunday, 26th July 2009 at Tanjung City Marina from 11a.m till 1p.m. Come witness as seven brave teams take on the challenge 
to cross the choppy waters of the 3.8 kilometre Penang Channel from Tanjung City Marina to Pantai Bersih and back again! These seven teams of great strength were selected among the Penang Open Finalists from the recent Penang International Dragon Boat Festival held on 23rd and 24th May 2009.
The seven teams who will be taking part in this event are Pacific West Dragon Boat Club, Penang Island Paddlez Club, Penang Forward Sports Club, Anak Malaysia, Batu Uban Dragon Boat Team, Kelab Pendayung Taman Perbandaran, PBC Tanjung Bunga School Team and Intel Dragon. So bring along your family and friends out for a fun and carefree Sunday to watch this exciting sport – the dragon boat race, which is Penang’s very own signature sport.
